I thought it was time for a good old favourites post. I’ve definitely been reaching for a lot of repeats this month. Here are my picks:
As it’s been so cold here, my base can look a bit dry/flat and cake a little in places, no matter how well my skin is prepped. While I usually rotate my powders, I’ve been sticking with my trusty Charlotte Tilbury to set and perfect without taking away radiance. It’s so finely milled that it’s the least affected by this freezing weather.
I’m still dealing with marks on my skin from a chin breakout which I couldn’t cover for the life of me. FYI fake tan loves sticking to these, darkening them and making them even more difficult to conceal. My go-to concealers just weren’t doing the trick, when I remembered this foundation. It’s full-coverage and budge-proof – way too much for my preferences day-to-day, so I hadn’t worn it in months. I pack this on with a densely packed brush and tap out with my finger. Magic. Although not for its intended purpose, it’s certainly got its use this month and I’m glad I still have it in my stash.
This is such a staple tinted lip balm. A peachy-pink that goes with everything, it subtly brightens any look, is lightly moisturising and comfortable to wear. I’ve had it for so long and used it loads but it’s still going strong, and never leaves my makeup bag. Gutted it’s been discontinued. Kiehl’s bring this back please!
New to my collection, I had my eye on this hyped-up product as an alternative to my L’Oreal Lash Paradise. It didn’t disappoint. It’s lengthening, separating, and holds a curl, creating a natural fluttery look. It’s not as volumizing as the L’Oreal but I’m really pleased to have a subtler alternative. And one of the biggest wins for me is that it hasn’t smudged on my lower lashes. Could this be the end of my buying a separate mascara for this purpose? I’m going to keep testing it to be 100% sure but I’m hopeful!
Another product that lives in my makeup bag, this cream blusher is a fuss-free peachy-pink (can you tell I have a type?) that never lets me down. If I’m short on time and need something that I know will look good, this is it. It’s sheer, emollient and brightening, and pairs perfectly with my daily makeup looks. Again, I’ve had this ages and used it lots, and I still haven’t even hit pan. A little pot of joy.
